Oooh, there are some gems in the linked article, like...
"Darwin's notion of unintelligent design can sometimes beat the most expert engineer."
and
"A whole group of intriguing conference titles turns on the Biblical injunction to 'Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise'."
So, as it turns out "random chance" IS an intelligent designer.
'Go to the ant, thou sluggard', has to be up there with 'Get thee to a nunnery', as a piece of unhinged advice.
Someone must have been at the ergot infected grain to come up with that one.
